Dogs love mermaids

Dogs loved the tail and I love dogs. Any time a dog walked along the river bank near us they’d howl and bark and look in a panic that a human was struggling in the water. Then I’d approach them to say hi and they’d become seriously baffled that I was half human, half fish and cautiously come closer to sniff me and investigate. Then they’d lick my face to see what I tasted like. I love dogs licking my face so I’d rest on the bank and let them carry on. And then I’d have a quick wash in the river and carry on with my day.
